My research interests are planetary differentiation and volcanism. To better understand the chemical evolution of planetary interiors and magmas, I conduct experiments that characterize the high-temperature behavior of elements and their isotopes.
My research efforts include:
My research efforts include:
- High-temperature, high-pressure experiments (1-atm gas-mixing furnace, piston cylinder, multi-anvil)
- Isotopic analysis of experimental samples (MC-ICP-MS)
- Geochemical modeling (elemental diffusion, isotopic fractionation, magma crystallization)
- Petrographic characterization of natural samples (lunar, meteorite, terrestrial)
- Synthesis and analysis of "ground truth" materials for remote sensing applications
- Analog mission and field campaigns for planetary surface exploration
